Madeleine McCann

Madeleine McCann was a three-year-old British toddler when she disappeared on May 3, 2007 while on holiday with her family in Portugal. Her unsolved missing-persons case has become a worldwide sensation.

The story of Madeline McCann is one that has many controversies. With over 8000 supposed sightings of her years after the 3-year-old went missing along with supporting evidence. Madeleine McCann is still one of the most famous missing persons cases in Portugal and the U.K.

Madeleine McCann was sleeping in her apartment along with a few other children while their parents were dining in a restaurant just across the street. Every few minutes the parents would go check on their children, and at 10pm Madeleine's mother, Kate McCann, discovered that her daughter was missing. The next few weeks consisted of the police searching for evidence and soon came to a shocking claim. The police at the time made the parents of Madeline the two suspects in the missing child case. They came up with the theory that Madeleine accidentally died and the McCann parents had gotten rid of her body.

The theory was soon dismissed due to a lack of evidence, and the search for the little girl was back on. There were no signs of a break-in, and due to the fact that the apartment had no gating and was open to the public the case got even more complicated. A few minutes before her disappearance a lady claimed to see a man carrying a barefoot young child in pink floral pajamas barefoot away from the apartment. After searching for the man they came to a conclusion with evidence that he was carrying his child home, and there were no signs of abduction. This was the first of thousands of supposed sighting of the young girl.
